No employees injured in Elkhart's Thermal Ceramics plant fire

An oven caught fire just before 1 a.m. Monday at Thermal Ceramics, 2730 Industrial Parkway in Elkhart.

A company spokeswoman told WSBT-TV all employees were safely evacuated and no one was injured. An exact number of employees working at the time of the fire was not available.

The plant is expected to re-open at 6 a.m. Monday.

The Elkhart plant of Thermal Ceramics manufactures microporous insulation for the aerospace and industrial markets.


Thermal Ceramics is a division of Morgan Crucible Co., which is based in the United Kingdom, according to the company’s website.
