After pounding Miami Saturday night, 41-3, Notre Dame has moved up a couple of notches in this week’s college football poll.

According to the Associated Press, the Fighting Irish are ranked #7 heading into their big game at home against Stanford on Oct. 13.

Even through 3 teams ahead of Notre Dame lost on Saturday, the Irish improved 2 spots from its #9 position before the Miami game.

Florida, who had been #10, catapulted over the Irish and several other teams to #4 after beating previously 2nd-ranked LSU, 14-6.

Stanford improved one spot to #17 after its come-from-behind 54-48 overtime win over Arizona.

Alabama remains #1 followed by Oregon, South Carolina, Florida and West Virginia.

Rounding out the top 10 are Kansas State at #6, then Notre Dame, Ohio State, LSU and Oregon State.

Future Irish opponent USC is #11.

Michigan returned to the top 25 at #25 after beating up Purdue Saturday, 44-13.
