There were two separate rollover accidents in our area Monday morning -- one of them a hit-and-run that has police searching for the suspect vehicle.

A woman had to be taken to the hospital to get checked out after an accident at Thornhill Drive and York Road around 7: 30 in South Bend.

Police say the driver went around the curve and hit a utility pole. She had to be extricated, which took a while because there were power lines lying on the vehicle.

Her injuries were not life threatening, according to a WSBT photographer at the scene.

Another rollover crash -- a hit-and-run -- happened around 9 in Mishawaka at Mishawaka and Forest avenues.

A WSBT photographer at the scene was told a maroon car that was possibly an Alero was heading north on Forest when it ran a stop sign and hit the westbound SUV, flipping it into a parked car.

The maroon vehicle took off and a witness at the scene tried to pursue, but lost it.

A mother and two children in the SUV were mostly uninjured, but the children were taken to the hospital to get checked out.

The suspect vehicle will have heavy damage. Police are searching for it.
