MARSHALL COUNTY -- A Marshall County plant has announced it will likely close for good.
Plymouth-based Whitley Products filed a WARN notice Tuesday.
According to the WARN website, 86 people will lose their jobs.
A WARN notice alerts employees that they will likely soon be out of work.
“They've been a good partner for us and for the community,” said Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter, “they've been here 60 years and it's hard to see them go.”
The future has been uncertain for the tubing company for about a month-- in late January, the plant announced it would be closing, laying off all of its employees.
But fewer than two weeks later, the plant re-opened.
The Marshall County Economic Development Director told us the plant re-opened because of a court order.
The WARN notification says the facility could permanently close sometime during a fourteen-day period beginning on April 22.
Whitley has two locations in Whitley -- both will likely close permanently.
No labor organizations reportedly represent the employees of Whitley.
