KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — Police have released the names of 3-year-old twins and a 1-year-old found dead after a fire that erupted inside a low-income apartment building in southwest Michigan.
Police said in a statement that Tevin Williams Jr. and his twin sister Ty'nitha Williams died in the Monday afternoon fire in Kalamazoo along with their sister Tyonna Henderson.
The fire is under investigation. Fire officials have said it appeared that the children were left home alone.
MLive.com reports the children's survivors include a 4-year-old sister. Authorities haven't said whether she was home at the time.
Fire officials and neighbors said the fire's heat and intensity blew out the unit's windows at the Interfaith Apartments.
Two other units were damaged by the blaze. A firefighter was injured when a ladder he was on collapsed.
