LAPORTE — Reports show a Kingsbury man was legally intoxicated at the time of a fatal motorcycle crash.
Gregory Elliott, 42, died of massive internal injuries from the crash that occurred about 3 a.m. Saturday, according to LaPorte County Police.
Elliott was headed south on U.S. 35 when his 2007 Yamaha veered into the median of the four-lane highway. He was thrown off the motorcycle and landed in the northbound lanes, police said.
Police said Elliott had a blood alcohol level of 0.25 percent and was not wearing a helmet.
LaPorte County Coroner John Sullivan said that driving a motor vehicle safely with such a high BAC, let alone a motorcycle, is impossible.
