GAGETOWN, Mich. (AP) — The Tuscola County sheriff's department says a 16-year-old died after he was run over and dragged beneath a car for almost a block following an altercation at a weekend party in Gagetown.
Undersheriff Glen Skrent says a 17-year-old from Unionville has been arrested. Witnesses say he drove the vehicle that struck Owendale-Gagetown High School freshman Zachary Harp of Caro.
Skrent says the suspect fled the scene in the early morning hours of Sunday. Harp died at a Flint hospital that afternoon.
The sheriff's office says the suspect is expected to be charged with murder.
WLEW-AM/FM reports an autopsy was to be conducted Monday on Harp.
Gagetown is located about 100 miles north of Detroit.
