A 63-year-old South Bend man told police he was beaten and robbed Tuesday night at a restaurant where he is employed.
According to police, a man came into Bangkok Thai Food & Market at 2522 Miracle Lane in the Town and Country shopping center about 7 p.m. and ordered some food before engaging in some type of altercation with the employee.
When police arrived they found the victim on the ground with a red bump underneath his left eye and was severely disoriented, police said. The victim told police he may have been hit with a shotgun but could not remember if any money was taken from the business.
A witness who was getting ready to enter the business said they saw a man running from the business, heading north toward an apartment complex.
The witness entered the business and heard a faint voice saying, "He tired to kill me, he tried to kill me," according to a police report.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatments.
No arrests have been made.
