EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Police shot and killed two dogs and were looking for two others that attacked a woman in Evansville.

Police spokeswoman Karen Kajmowicz says the 48-year-old woman's body was covered with bites but her injuries are not believed to be life threatening. She was taken to Deaconess Hospital for treatment.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports the woman was taking a walk near a park on the city's south side Friday morning when she was attacked by several dogs that forced her to the ground.

A witness called police, who arrived during the attack and shot two of the dogs.
