SOUTH BEND - Picture 'The Cove' with a triple deck party tower.

The Silver Hawks are talking about it.

And it could bring a lot more people to downtown South Bend.

It’s another investment in South Bend, and it’s another way to revitalize the city.

The Silver Hawks had a positive 2012 season when it came to their fan base. With all the new amenities the ballpark offered, many more people were attracted to spending a day at The Cove.

Now, Silver Hawks owner Andrew Berlin is hoping to add another feature to this newly renovated field -- a triple deck party tower, near centerfield, complete with its own kitchen to serve the 450 people it would hold.

The tower could bring more energy and excitement to the heart of South Bend.

“I want that tower by next year on opening day, but it’s a function of money,” Berlin said. “We had great attendance figures, a jump in attendance, but we need to have another jump in attendance the following year. We spent on The Cove last year and we were rewarded but to do that again will depend on the community supporting as far as attendance. But we're going to do everything we can to get it there by opening day."

Right now, they're still putting the final touches on next year's budget, then we could have a better idea if the party tower could become a reality.

Berlin says he does not think it's right to ask the city for money at this point in time.

Berlin already invested millions of his own into the Cove, making it very clear that he really believes in the ballpark.
