SOUTH BEND—
While the cause of a massive fire May 25 at Hurwich Farms Apartments has not been determined, foul play has been ruled out.
A South Bend Fire Department report issued Friday noted the fire began on the balcony of apartment 3B on 2664 Arabian Court, where a storage closet was located.
The fire's cause remains under investigation.
Fire department officials estimate damage to buildings at $300,000 and $100,000 to contents.
The local American Red Cross chapter helped displaced residents immediately after the fire.
