Christopher Elg, who is currently a candidate for the chief of police position in South Bend, has turned down a police chief position in Bismarck, North Dakota. That's according to the Bismarck Tribune.
Elg is currently the chief of police in West Monroe, Louisiana
Two other men are also being considered for South Bend's top cop.
Ronald Teachman's interview was Tuesday. He was the police chief in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
On Friday the mayor is scheduled to interview Bruce Marquis, former chief in Hartford, CT and Norfolk, VA.
