SOUTH BEND -- It's a move that could add more tension to a standoff between South Bend and a downtown business owner.
Jersey Mike's is still open in the former College Football Hall of Fame building.
The hall of fame left South Bend in December for its new home in Atlanta, Ga.
But shop owner Bob Guros tells us that the city won't give him a key to his sandwich shop -- so a keyholder has to unlock the door for workers in the morning and lock up at night.
Guros says it's a clumsy process.
Before the Hall of Fame closed, he told WSBT the city was trying to force him out, saying it had no obligation to keep Jersey Mike's as a tenant after the Hall left.
City Attorney Aladean DeRose confirms litigation is pending in St. Joseph County Circuit Court to determine the future of that Jersey Mike's location.
Guros says his contract is good through 2015.
The city says it was their understanding that his contract would be terminated when the hall closed.
The judge has until April 24 to rule on this case.
