HOLTON, Ind. (AP) — A southeastern Indiana man critically injured in last March's deadly tornado outbreak has died from complications of his injuries.
Seventy-one-year-old Alvin "Ted" Tolbert died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield, Ohio, some 10 months after he and his wife, Brenda, were injured when a tornado ripped through the Ripley County town of Holton.
Tolbert had been on life support since the March 2, 2012, storms, but his wife has recovered from her injuries.
Before Tolbert's death, authorities had put last year's tornado death toll at 13. All of those victims were southern Indiana residents.
