DETROIT (AP) — Another national talk show host is taking swings at Detroit.

Fox News' Glenn Beck compares the Motor City to Hiroshima after the United States dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city during World War II.

Beck said Hiroshima rebuilt itself through entrepreneurship and the free market system, while Detroit "embraced progressive policies and corrupt government and unions."

He also criticizes General Motors Co. and Chrysler LLC, saying the two automakers "stunk on ice" and "begged for a bailout."

Detroit frequently has been the target of such criticism. Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel joked Detroit would burn if its Pistons won the 2004 NBA title. Kimmel later said he was sorry if he offended anyone by the joke.
