SOUTH BEND – Firefighters say road conditions made it difficult to get to a house fire on South Bend's West side early Wednesday morning.

A snow plow driver noticed smoke and flames coming from a home in the 2600 block of West Fisher Street just after 3 a.m.

Firefighters quickly put the fire out.

The upstairs of the house had the most damage.

We're told someone lives at the house but was not home at the time of the fire.

No word yet on what caused the blaze.
