MISHAWAKA – A busy Mishawaka highway is about to shut down for awhile.

The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to close State Road 331 (Capital Ave.) between Lincolnway and 12th St. on Monday.

INDOT spokesman Matt Deitchley says Norfolk Southern crews will relocate the nearby railroad tracks as part of the new Capital Avenue widening project.

The S.R. 331 strip is expected to be closed through Friday, Sept. 28.

A detour will be set up, taking drivers west on Lincolnway, south on S.R. 23, east on U.S. 20, and back to Capital.

Northbound drivers will travel south on Capital, west on U.S. 20, north on S.R. 23, east on Lincolnway, and back to Capital.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through the construction zone.
