CHICAGO – The South Shore Railroad accommodated hundreds of football fans who decided to ride the rails to get to the Notre Dame-Miami game at Soldier Field Saturday night.

The South Shore added more trains  because  the demand for transportation to the game in Chicago was so high.

Hundreds showed up in their green and gold ready for the game.

“I’m looking forward to this, been looking at it all week and pulled the trigger and bought a ticket, and now I’m sitting on the 50-yard line,” said Greg Clifford.

2 trains brought fans back from the game late Saturday night.

Police had extra patrols near the airport looking for intoxicated drivers who may be getting off those trains after the game.
