GOSHEN – Veterans Day is this coming weekend, and area schools and communities will be holding special ceremonies.
Students at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic School in Goshen Wednesday honored all who have served in the military.
Veterans from World War Two, the Korean War and the Vietnam War were all there along with a fellow Marine, training to head to the Middle East.
“It is important to remember veterans because we love them very much, and they love us and protect us,” said 5th grader Cassie Oliva.
“Without the soldiers, we would not be free, and someone or a country might be ruling over us,” fellow 5th grader Drew Gayler said.
The veterans talked about the different branches of the military and told the students what they did in the service.
