The Cove and Kroc pair up to raise money for Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign

SOUTH BEND - The South Bend Silver Hawks' owner was named "Honorary Chair" for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign on Tuesday.

Andrew Berlin is partnering with another big powerhouse in the city -- the Kroc Center.

The red kettles come out every year around this time. You see them outside the mall or the grocery store.

The Cove and the Kroc Center will work together this Christmas season to raise money for needy families.

They’re asking you to give change to see change.

They hope their partnership will benefit the entire South Bend community.

The money raised stays in St. Joseph County, helping about 1,500 local needy families get through the holiday season.

They hope to raise $125,000 dollars this year.

"We're really excited to help out neighbors in need here in St. Joseph County," said Major Bob Webster with the Kroc Center. A partnership with the Silver Hawks is amazing, because we've been able to bring a new enthusiasm, a new excitement on this side of South Bend, and it's fun to see how the neighborhood has transformed."
