THREE RIVERS, Mich. (WWMT-TV) – A west Michigan teacher is facing a criminal sexual conduct charge.
Gregory Edwards, 57, is a gym teacher in the Three Rivers School district. He's now facing a charge of second degree criminal sexual conduct.
Investigators say Edwards inappropriately touched a student under the age of 13.
Edwards is currently on paid administrative leave as the investigation continues.
False charge or not, if charged and acquited, his life is ruined and his career over, whatever the outcome, he is doomed.
I had Mr. Edwards in elementary in White Pigeon in the 70's. My kids had him in Three Rivers. He attends our church. He has always been very professional and very nice. I have never seen any wrongdoing by him. Mr. Edwards, we are praying for you and also praying for the student.
He has been suspended for many months while they were doing the investigation without being charged. Unfortunately, if they are charging him now that must mean that they actually have enough evidence to prove their case. It is a shame because he was a major part of the athletics program from elementary through high school for both the boys and the girls programs.
