The South Bend grandmother accused of not reporting abuse to her grandson that led to his death will face a judge Wednesday.

Delia Castille is accused of neglect and not reporting the abuse to her grandchildren inside their Washington Street home. Her trial is scheduled to start October 1st.

Her son, Terry Sturgis, was convicted in May of beating his son, 10-year-old Tramelle Sturgis to death. He was also convicted of abusing another son who survived.

Castille is accused of not reporting that abuse even though she lived inside the home where the beating happened.

According to court documents, police say Castille would occasionally attend to the children's injuries after beatings by their father. Those documents also say Castille admitted to paying and giving incentives to her son Terry so he wouldn't beat the children.

Her hearing is set for 1:30 Wednesday afternoon -- it is a status hearing, so any pre-trial motions will be heard. WSBT will be in the courtroom and we will have the latest on air and online.
