Three Tribune staff members were honored in Chicago recently for placing in a national contest.

Photographer Marcus Marter placed first in the Inland Press Association’s Feature Photography category for "Loosey Goosey."

Senior Writer Virginia Black’s four-part series earlier this year, "Clarence and me," earned second place in the organization’s Personality/Individual Profile Stories. It was the story of the writer’s longtime friendship with a man suffering from schizophrenia. (You can find the series on southbendtribune.com under Special Reports.)

Photo Editor Santiago Flores’ photo "He’s up there" captured third place in News Photography.

The Tribune competed with newspapers between 25,001 and 75,000 daily circulation.
