Family friend: South Bend homicide victim was innocent bystander

SOUTH BEND - Friends gathered Saturday at a home at 1022 E. Bowman St. for the Notre Dame football game, dining on ham and beans that a family friend was fixing there on Friday — before he was shot to death.
