ELKHART – Elkhart police have nabbed two young men for the armed robbery of an ice cream shop on the city’s south side.
Around 2:40 p.m. on Saturday, officers were called to Michicoana Ice Cream at 246 W. Lusher Ave. after the business was held up.
Police say two men entered the ice cream shop, pulled a handgun and left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Authorities say the suspects were seen getting into a black SUV.
An officer later found the vehicle, which led to the arrests of 18-year-old Justin Quinones and a 15-year-old boy, both of Elkhart. Both are charged with Armed Robbery.
No one was hurt in the heist.
