NOTRE DAME – The No. 1 Notre Dame football team returned to the South Bend campus around 6 a.m. Sunday, just hours after beating USC 22-13 to complete a perfect 12-0 regular season and earn a berth in the national championship game January 7 in Miami against Alabama or Georgia.
The Fighting Irish were welcomed by fans, many of whom stayed up all night to get a glimpse of their heroes.
WSBT was there for the homecoming.

Ahh, nothing could be more perfect than reading the small opinions of ND haters. I enjoy their wallowing in their own self-hatred because it just confirms how disappointing their little lives must truely be that the only way they can make themselves feel better is to belittle others.
So hate on haters, Notre Dame is #1, uNDefeated, and outstaNDing, and there's nothing you can say that will change those facts. While ND will certainly be 10 or more point underdogs no matter if they play Alabama, Georgia, or Oregon, I wouldn't want it any other way.

Lets take a look at the OVER RANKED Irish wins.
Besides convincing wins against the likes of Navy, Michigan State, Miami, Oklahoma and Wake Forest, the other 7 games, the LUCK of the Irish had prevailed.
Even if you are a DIE HARD Notre Dame fan and don't believe the Irish are the most over ranked and hyped up team in College Football than I got a great deal of Ocean Front property in Arizona to sell you.
When the Irish Play Alabama or Georgia for a National Title in January they will finally see and feel what a top 10 caliber football team is.
