ST. JOSEPH COUNTY -- If you're a smoker and you've been waiting for the right time to quit -- today might be a good day.
Thursday is the American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout -- which encourages people who smoke to make a promise to stop.
St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and Tobacco Free St. Joseph County are encouraging smokers across the area to use today as their day to quit -- or their day to make a plan to quit.
