WARSAW – A staff member at Warsaw High School has been arrested on sexual charges.
City police say they investigated a complaint of someone who was inappropriately recording teenage girls at school.
Police say that someone was 35-year-old Daniel Zambrano of Warsaw.
Last week, two 16-year-old girls and a 17-year-old girl told school staff they were being photographed and videotaped from a cell phone camera under a desk during classes.
As a result, Zambrano has been charged with 3 counts of voyeurism, all class A misdemeanor charges.
Police say Zambrano confessed to the crime.
The investigation determined numerous times, between May of last school year and in the first three months of this school year, Zambrano was engaged in recording under the desks and up the skirts or dresses of females at school.
There's also indication that Zambrano may have conducted similar behavior with adult women outside school.
Police say there's no evidence any personal relationship or sexual touching occurred with any students or anyone else.
Zambrano is a part-time support staff member in the "English as a Second Language (ESL)" program at WCHS.
Investigators recovered an I-phone owned by Zambrano, and although the phone is still being examined, preliminary data from the phone shows still pictures and videos were contained in the phone's memory.
