WATERVLIET, Mich. (WWMT-TV) - A local school was on lock down following an on-line threat.
Watervliet High School is on Saint Joseph Street. Police were called to the building this morning.
From outward appearances it was business as usual. The police cars left a short time before noon.
The school superintendent told us the doors to the building remained locked through the day.
Thursday morning when students arrived at the high school they let the principal know of something they had seen online. It does not appear the threat was targeted at a specific person.
"Students made us aware there were threats seen on Facebook. Contacted local police to assist with the investigation, it's currently under investigation," said Superintendent Kevin Schooley.

People are really stuiped about what they post on facebook. Alot of people were scared today at Coloma High School when we heard about the false shooting in Waterveilt. People need to start using there head and watch what they post online. Im glad and thankful that thoses girls went to the principal cause a gun shooting is not something to mess around with, and thoses kids could of got hurt. Including some of my friends and family that go there.
