JONES – Ski resorts like Swiss Valley have been waiting for snow all season.
The ski club is hoping to welcome skiers and snowboarders for the first time by the end of this week, maybe even as soon as Wednesday. Swiss Valley's website says the lower temperatures paired with this week's snow creates an ideal combination to make fake snow.
You can find that website by going to WSBT.com and clicking on News Links. You can get a full snow report and sign up for a text message alert once the resort opens for business.
Also this afternoon, county park officials will assess tubing hills at St. Patrick's and Ferretie Baugo Parks to decide if the hills are ready for sleds and tubes. A decision could be made as early as Tuesday afternoon. Cross country skiing is open if you have your own skis.
