Jay Shellabarger was first in line when the light was turned on at the Lids on the second floor of the old Nordstrom building.
"Really excited," said Shellabarger. "I have been walking around and planning things out. Someone told me to come up here and buy my stuff and that is what I am here doing."
Having 23,000 square feet of space full of things like hats, shirts and even video games is huge for this Indianapolis-based company.
"We think this is an unbelievable opportunity for the city of Indianapolis and also for our Lids employees and families," said Kocher.
Lids President Ken Kocher said the toughest part has been putting everything together less than a week after finding out which two teams would be playing for the championship.
"They just won last Sunday and we have to turn the product pretty quickly and set it up in here," said Kocher. "That has been one unique challenge."
The set-up continued just down the street at Carson's where they have the traditional Super Bowl gear, the shirts, blankets, and sweatshirts. But, for the higher end crowd, there is something a little more expensive. How about a fur coat, with a price-tag of $65,000?
If spending thousands of dollars on a brand new fur coat is not your thing, Carson's Manager Greg Hoenig said there are other options.
"Also, we are doing cosmetics, said Hoenig. "We are having make-up artists coming in from all the lines, as well as music and giveaways. It is just going to be a lot of fun and excitement. A total red carpet event."
