A joint news conference has been scheduled for Monday afternoon to announce whether charges will be filed against members of the Carmel High School basketball team. Several senior players are accused of sexually assaulting freshman players.
A grand jury met this week to deliberate whether or not to recommend charges to the prosecutors. Late Wednesday, Fox59 News learned charges were recommended. No other details were given due to the nature of grand jury proceedings.
Prosecutors in Hamilton and Hendricks County are working together on the case. One incident reported occurred in Hendricks County following an away game in Terre Haute back in January.
