The Hendricks County Prosecutor could soon file charges against the Carmel basketball players accused of sexual assaulting a classmate.

Prosecutor Patricia Baldwin told WIBC during an interview, she hoped to make a decision on potential charges in the next 10 days. The case was moved to Hendricks County after investigators determined the incident took place in that county.

The incident in question occurred in January, while the team was returning home from a game in Terre Haute. Three senior players allegedly assaulted a freshman during that trip. The prosecutor said it takes time to determine who actually witnessed the attack.

"It's just been going through an enormous amount of paperwork, statements and straightening out who was, who was on what bus and who saw what or thought they saw what or what they heard or didn't hear," said Baldwin.
