Greencastle, Ind.—

A former Carmel High School basketball player accused of assaulting a classmate will not join the freshman class at DePauw University this fall.

The school has decided to defer the enrollment of Robert Kitzinger indefinitely.

Kitzinger is one of four former Carmel students accused of assaulting underclassman. DePauw officials said their decision doesn't reflect whether Kitzinger is innocent or guilty.
