The Cumberland police department has been flooded with tips, after a 7-year-old girl and her 21-year-old uncle were shot to death.

Monday around 3 PM, detectives said Kyleigh Crane and her uncle, Jeremy Crane, were found shot to death inside a home on Woodlark Drive. The home belongs to Cathy Crane, who is Jeremy's mother and Kyleigh's grandmother. Jeremy Crane was babysitting his niece because she was home sick from school that day.

Outside the home a tent has been set up and inside people have left stuffed animals, posters, and cards for the Crane family. Cory Harness who went to school with Jeremy Crane said he wanted to show his family support.

"I cannot believe any of this, man," he said. "It's very heartbreaking. Just to show that people are out there to support them," he said about why he left a card.

From what detectives told FOX 59, no one forced their way into the home nor does it seem a theft was taking place. Investigators said they are working on several theories. Investigators told FOX 59 that Jeremy Crane did not have a criminal record.

"I hope they catch him 'cause I'm the same age as him and I have a 7 year-old and what about.. something like that could happen to any of us," Harness said.

Haleigh Cloud stopped by the home Wednesday afternoon to leave a stuff animal. She said she knew Jeremy and Kyleigh.

"I hope that they find out whoever did it and I hope they, you know, go through the same thing that they put them through," Cloud said. "I liked Jeremy. He was cool. He was outgoing. He was always funny. He was a good person to talk to," Cloud continued.
