Driver admits to texting while driving after crashing into pole

Henry County, Ind.

A New Castle woman was ticketed Thursday after she crashed her vehicle while texting and driving.

Casey Williams, 23, crashed her car into a utility pole on County Road 50 East just south of County Road 300.

Williams said she was driving north and was in the middle of texting when she headed off the right side of the road and crashed into the utility pole.

Williams was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

“This crash demonstrates the serious nature and dangers of texting while driving,” said Trooper Doug Snyder.

Williams was issued a ticket for use of a telecommunications device while operating a motor vehicle.
