Fort Wayne man sentenced to life in prison in killing, dismembering of girl

The Fort Wayne man who pleaded guilty in the murder and dismembering of a 9-year-old girl he was babysitting was sentenced to life in prison Monday.

In May, Michael Plumadore pleaded guilty to murder, abuse of a corpse and removing a dead body from the scene in the Dec. 22 death of Aliahna Lemmon.  Plumadore entered a plea deal, which took away the possibility of the death penalty in exchange for Plumadore’s guilty plea. 

The judge accepted the plea and added 36 years to his sentence: three additional years for abuse of a corpse; three years for moving Lemmon’s body; and 30 years due to Plumadore being a habitual offender.

At the time of Lemmon’s death, Plumadore was watching the 9-year-old and her younger sister while their mother was sick.  The victim’s family said Plumadore was a trusted family friend.

Police said Plumadore admitted he used a brick to hit Lemmon in the head several times, before dismembering her body. 

According to the probable cause affidavit, Plumadore said he placed pieces of Lemmon's body in freezer bags, before disposing of them in a dumpster at a nearby business.
