The Visitors Bureau in Hamilton County became an assembly line of sorts Monday. Event brochures and Super Bowl posters were boxed up to be mail mailed out across Hamilton County, to get ready for the Super Bowl.
Hamilton County is officially rolling out the welcome mat for Super Bowl visitors. Executive Director Brenda Myers said Monday's assembly line is the culmination of two years of hard work.
"You can just feel the excitement. It is just a lot of fun," she said. "You know how you plan and plan and plan something and it all comes together? It is actually fun to see it all came together."
It all came together Monday morning as about a dozen volunteers boxed up care packages full of Super Bowl stuff. Inside each of the 160 boxes were items like Super Bowl posters, event brochures, even Mardi Gras beads. All the stuff will be sent out throughout Hamilton County.
"This is what we do in the hospitality industry,” said Myers. “We get the opportunity to welcome people in a big way and it is just fun and everybody feels the excitement."
Myers said with thousands of out-of-towners in town for the big game, it's a chance to hook visitors on what Hamilton County has to offer.
"Our people come over and over again. They really enjoy coming here, so why would we not take the opportunity to let them know they are in Hamilton County and we would like them to come back by welcoming them as warmly as we can."
