A fallen Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer was remembered Friday. Kaplan College officials dedicated the school's firearms training simulator to Officer David Moore, who was killed in the line of duty earlier this year.
The machine helps improve a person's decision-making abilities during simulated stressful situations that are similar to real-life emergencies.
"It's so important. I mean, he was well-trained and it needs to continue. We need to keep everybody well-trained and safe," said IMPD Sgt. Jo Moore, David's mother.
Officer David Moore was shot four times during a traffic stop on January 23rd, 2011. He died three days later. Thomas Hardy, the man accused of shooting him, remains in jail awaiting trial.
