An Indianapolis mother is accused of leaving her four children home alone to go to a bar early Christmas morning.
Police received a call about unattended children in the 400 block of Sandra Lane around 2:40 a.m. Sunday. When police arrived, they found four children ranging in age from 3-9 years old sleeping without an adult present. The oldest child said he did not know where his mother was.
A neighbor said he knew where police could find the children's mother. This neighbor happened to be the mother's ex-boyfriend and said he had seen her leave the home without her children. He told police they could find her at a nearby bar.
Police said they found 25-year-old Kristina Salazar drunk inside Sidewinders Bar and Grill a short time later. The bar was still open from the night before.
Salazar was placed under arrest. She is currently in police custody facing child neglect charges.
The children were released to the custody of family members. Police said they did not appear to be injured or malnourished.
