A jury found a local man guilty in connection with the murder of a 61-year-old man during an attempted robbery last year.
Anthony Shockley was found guilty of two counts of murder and one count of attempted robbery.
In June 2011, Shockley, Jonathan Wililams and a 16-year-old boy were arrested in connection with the death of 61-year-old Clayton Battice. Police said Battice was fatally shot during a random robbery at his apartment complex.
Officers found Battice in an open stairwell, just two flights below his apartment at the Bavarian Village complex on the east side.
Shockley will be sentenced on Nov. 7.
