Police said an elderly woman lost control of her vehicle, crashing through several backyards and striking two homes Thursday afternoon.
"I heard, 'boom,” said resident Faustino Sanchez.
”I first thought it was an accident. I looked through my window and suddenly I saw my fence completely destroyed."
The Buick ripped up five yards, and crashed through four fences. It even knocked a house off its foundation. It finally came to a stop on Ronald Brandon's deck.
Brandon grabbed his ladder, and his drill to patch up the hole the car caused.
"The window is broken out and so it will keep the air out tonight,” said Brandon. “And I am going to try and put another piece of plywood over the other window to keep the air out of the house tonight."
The people in the Buick were okay. Police said the driver does not remember what happened.
"Honestly, I do not know how anyone did not get hit," said a neighbor.
If fact there were no injuries. Sanchez knew this story easily could have had a different ending.
"My wife, she is always out here every day at about the same time,” said Sanchez. “Thank God she did not come out, my daughter was not here, and my son was not here either."
He said what is broken can be replaced.
"It could have been worse," said Sanchez.
