An SUV drivers admitted to taking cocaine and heroin just an hour before crashing into a home on the city's northeast side, according to police.
It happened around 10 p.m. in the 5500 block of Drexel Avenue. That's near East 56th Street and Binford Boulevard.
According to police, 21-year-old Devon Sylvester was driving westbound on East 56th Street when he left the south side of the road. Sylvester drove through front yards, destroying mailboxes and damaging lawns before crashing into the living room of a house, hitting two people sitting on a couch.
A teen was transported to Methodist Hospital for serious injuries to her collar bone and face.
Sylvester was placed under arrest, accused of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.
