Police: Elderly woman loses control of vehicle, strikes two homes

Indianapolis

Police said an elderly woman lost control of her vehicle, crashing through several backyards and striking two homes Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred near 10th Street and Country Club on the city's west side.

Officials with the Wayne Township Fire Department said the woman crashed through four fenced-in backyards and struck two homes before coming to a rest on a desk behind one of the houses.

The woman was traveling northbound on Country Club Road with her son before the accident.

The woman and her son were treated and released at the scene.  She told authorities she did not remember the accident.

No one inside the homes was injured.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate the incident.  It is unclear at this time what caused the woman to lose control of her vehicle.
