A remembrance fund has been created for a victim of the Villa Paree shootings.
Alicia Koehl had just received a promotion and started working at the Villa Paree Apartment complex a few weeks before Wednesday's shooting.
Koehl was working the apartment's office when police say 30-year-old Michael Anderson opened fire, fatally wounding her. Anderson shot three other people before fatally shooting himself.
Friends and family described Koehl as a devoted mother, wife and friend. She served as a Girl Scout leader and the president of the Spring Mill Elementary School PTO. She was also recently voted volunteer of the year.
She is survived by her mother, sister, her husband of nearly 16 years and her two children.
The memorial fund has been set up at the National Bank of Indianapolis. Those willing to make a donation to the Koehl Family Memorial Fund should contact Ms. Kimberly Martin at the National Bank of Indianapolis located at One America Square, Suite 100. The money raised will be used to benefit her children's future educational needs.
