Carmel bus attack apology released
The apology letter written to the victim of a Carmel High School bus attack was released Tuesday.

Robert Kitzinger, one of the four students accused of attacking the classmate, had to write the letter as a part of a plea agreement.

Kitzinger admitted to a Class B Misdemeanor Battery for the January 22, 2010 incident.

In the letter, Kitzinger wrote:

"If I made you feel threatened or uncomfortable with my conduct, then I certainly apologize for that behavior. I always thought you and I were able to joke and goof around when we saw each other, and I took that to mean we were friends. I never tried to "haze" you or to "bully" you."

Kitzinger entered a pre-trial diversion agreement Monday. He has already completed required counseling. No further community service has been ordered. If Kitzinger remains in good standing as a student then the case will be dismissed from his record at the end of the year.
