An Indianapolis stepmom was arrested Sunday after a 2-year-old boy was found unconscious.
Autumn Dunn faces charges of battery and neglect.
Police were called to the 8000 block of Sansa Court around 2:30 p.m.
Dunn told officers the boy had been sleeping and when she went to check on him, she was unable to wake him. She said the boy had fallen down in the yard earlier in the morning but he didn't appear to be hurt.
Dunn then got the boy's father. The father told police the boy was breathing very shallowly and was cold to the touch.
The boy was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. Medics said his injuries were consistent with significant head trauma.
The boy was still hospitalized Monday night.
