Store unveils Peyton Manning tribute shirts

Before his final season with the Colts, Peyton Manning's jersey was the fourth most popular in the entire NFL. Now that he is no longer with the team, number 18 might be even more popular.

"We have definitely seen a few more people come in, getting their Peyton stuff than a normal day," said Colts Pro Shop Manager Marc Harnist.

The store is rolling out all of Peyton’s gear.  No matter what it is, it is selling.

"No matter how you slice it, this city and these fans love Peyton," said Harnist.

Out with the old and in with the new, you can pick up Peyton’s jerseys all around the Circle City, but you cannot buy tribute shirts in stores.  The newest shirt was printed just hours after the announcement was made.  Arizona Sport Shirts on Gasoline Alley unveiled the design for the Manning tribute.

"We had to hold back until they announced, then we were able to move forward,” said Fred Fillah, President of NFL players licensee “Fans Only.”

The process of laying out, screening, lighting and rolling out the finished product was tough on Manning fan Jeff Black. 

"Big manning fan, big colts fan,” said Black.  “Hate to see him go."

Black wore his number 18 shirt as a way of paying his respects.

"It is rough, we do not want to see Manning go anywhere, but we want to see him do the best for himself," said Black.

Fillah said commemorating "the end of an era" made him feel both sad, and proud.

"When he does great in the future they can pull this shirt out and let people know, 'hey, I was there when he was leaving,'" said Fillah.
