X, L, V, I - the four letters are sure getting a lot of attention at Monument Circle. Some visitors are just snapping a quick pic while others are stopping to pose with the letters.
"It is bigger than I thought," said William Lee. "I thought it was going to be big, but I tell you what..."
Lee gave up his lunch break to head downtown to see the newest addition to the Circle. He said it was worth the sacrifice.
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and if you do not take advantage of it, I do not know what you are doing," said Lee.
Crews started installing the 96-ton sign Tuesday morning. They worked virtually non-stop until it was complete. Lee said just hearing the dimensions, 30-feet high, 82-feet wide was not enough. He had to have a closer look.
"I am 6'4" and you can not even imagine it until you come up to it and understand what you are up against," said Lee. "So, come on down and check it out."
Lee said having the big game in town has given him a renewed sense of city pride.
"Obviously, we all do not get to go to the Super Bowl, but what Indianapolis has done, with preparation and work it took to make this happen, it is incredible," said Lee. "We are lucky and fortunate, so I want to be a part of it."
