Family, friends and neighbors came to show support to the family of 3-year-old Jacob Smith Thursday.
He died Monday night after investigators said his mother drowned him.
Robert Crim is Jacob’s dad. He said right now he’s holding on to, “Memories. It's all smiles right now from him. He was always smiling.”
While the vigil focused on Jacob, family friends also talked about bringing change.
“We feel a little more communication between people would have prevented this tragedy,” said one friend.
Sandy Wrinkle with Prevent Child Abuse Indiana passed out pamphlets to people at the vigil.
“What an act of courage to think about other children at this time,” said Wrinkle.
Crim said he’s thankful for the outpouring from the community.
“Thank you for all the support and prayers,” he said.
Jacob's visitation is Friday at 12 p.m. at the Jessen Funeral Home in Franklin. His memorial service is at 2 p.m.
